Day 1 - Kyiv

City tour - the Golden Gate Monument, built in 1017, the commerce zone, the Opera house, the University, Vladmir Cathedral, the Church of Saint Andrew at the Andreyevski Street full of art galleries.

Excursion “Ancient Kyiv”.
You will visit Old Kiev Hill, observe the duplicate of the basement of Decimal Church, built in the 10th century and destroyed during the tatar-mongol invation in 1240. A unique specimen of the Old Rus architecture is considered to be St. Sophia's Cathedral (1037), mosaics, frescos, preserved to our days are of a great value. The Golden Gates (the 11th century) project an unforgettable impression upon visitors. The Golden Gates were part of fortification constructions, were destroyed in the 13th century, during the II World War and reconstructed in the 20th century. Exactly these Gates inspired a famous composer Musorgsky for writing a musical composition "Pictures from the exhibition". You will have a chance to see monuments to outstanding historical figures, which left a significant trace in the history: the monument to Prince Volodimir, a baptizer of Kiev Rus, to the outstanding Princes Olga, famous for its political activity as in Ukraine, so in abroad (the 10th century), to Prince Yaroslav the Wise, also to Bogdan Khmelnitsky.
Visiting a St. Sofia`s Cathedral
, a magnificent work of art built in 1037. It is the most vivid example of the Old Rus architecture and monumental art for this place, was built and decorated when the state of Kyiv Rus was living through the peak of its prosperity. Here grand princes were crowned and buried, formal ceremonies and receptions of envoys were help, the first known library in ancient Rus and the first school for boys and girls were founded by Yaroslav the Wise.

Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is a unique monastery complex, which is included in UNESCO world heritage list.

Visiting of Vydubitskiy monastery - a monastery complex situated on the picturesque banks of Dnieper in the Vydubich tract.
History of creation
Vydubytskiy monastery was constructed in 70th of XI century by grand duke Vsevolod Yaroslavovich, who was the son of Yaroslav the Wise like a family monastery.
The name of the place is connected with the legend that when Grand Duke of Kiev Vladimir at the time of Rus baptizing enjoined to throw down all wooden pagan deities and idols into a Dnieper, those people who were devoted to old belief ran along the river and called Gods to float to the surface and shouted "Perune, vydubi (which mean - Perun float to the surface.) The place were idols came to bank was named "Vydubichi".
The architectural ensemble of the monastery consist of Archangel Mikhail Church, Georgievskaya Church, Spasskaya Church constructed in Ukrainian baroque style and refectory. Only several churched of the monastery kept safe during the centuries. Among them Archangel Mikhail Church, which was constructed by the time of rule of Vsevolod and partly restored in 1769 in Ukrainian baroque style.

Excursion “Architectural Pechersk” - the most elite and aristocratic district of Kiev. You will see the building of National Bank of Ukraine, secretariat of president, Liberman`s House ( building of the Union of writers, building with Chimeras (house of Horodetskiy, Mariinskiy Palace (architector  Rastrelli)

Transfer and visiting of Cyril Church.
Cyril Church was constructed in the middle of XII century in the outskirts of old Kiev - Dorogojichi. The church was named after Saint Cyril one of the Slavic enlighteners. The construction was started by Vsevolod Olgovich prince of Chernigov, and after his death the church was finished by his wife - Maria Mstislavovna. From here in 1139 Vsevolov Olgovich managed the assault of Kiev during internal war for the Kiev's throne and gained victory.
For the Olgovich dynasty Cyril Church became country-house residence and family burial-vault. In 1194 here was buried Kiev Grand Duke Svyatoslav - the Hero of Old Russian poem "Slovo o Polku Igorevim"
For the time of its existence Cyril Church many timed was in desolation, repeatedly repaired and renewed. After rebuilding in XVII—XVIII old Cyril Church had got it contemporary view with typical features of baroque style.
In 60th years of XIX under the plaster of walls of XVIII centuries had been found frescos of XII century. In 1884 by the Church demand opened old frescos were anew painted by oil paints - the works were commited to famous Russian artist Mikhail Vrubel. Especially beautiful was "Mother of God", it was told that in that Vrubel had an unrequited love to Emiliya Prahova, the wife of his art-master, and indeed her face serve as the basis for "Mother of God" portrait.

• “Rynok Square. “Rynok” (from Ukrainian – market place) Square has appeared in 14th century and is an example of typical square of medieval Western-European city. It served as a centre of trade and social life of Lvov. Square ensemble consisted of 44 buildings with town council in the middle. Each building of the Rynok Square has its own history and is worth of attention! All 44 buildings were built by request of the elite of Lvov, earls, merchants.
• Lviv University – the Neo Renaissance, Market Square, the Assumption Cathedral
 Latin Cathedral – the oldest site in Gothic style, Armenian Church – 14th century.

Day 6 -  Lviv - Pochaiv - Lviv

Visiting Pochaiv Lavra.
It is the eastern orthodox monastery (lavra) in Pochaev (Ternopol region). It is the most sacred eastern orthodox holy place in Volyn and the second-important one after Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in Ukraine .
According to the legend, the monastery was founded by monks of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, who fled from Tatar invasion in 1240. The first records in chronicles about it are dated back to 1527. In 1597, Pochaeva Lavra obtained a wonder-working icon of the Blessed Virgin, which was brought to Ukraine in 1559 by Bulgarian metropolitan – Neophyte. In 1675, Pochaeva Lavra was besieged by Turkish, but then they suddenly left the town. The prosperity of the monastery falls at the second half of XVII century due to the activities of hegumen Iov Zheleza (1602-1651). From 1730 Pochaev printing house was operating, which printed 187 books. This Lavra is rich in murals, sculptures and ornaments.

Day 7 -  Lviv

While touring the Old Town the tourist can see the St.Nicholas Church, the Dominican Church and the Church of Onufriy - at present the Museum of Ivan Fedorov (the first book-printer). This city boasts of Italian Renaissance, German Baroque and Polish influences in its architectural sites. One will be delighted by the visit to the newly renovated Opera House and the Ukrainian Drama Theatre named after Maria Zankovetskaya. St.George Cathedral is a fine example of the Rococo style.
